Tonight there is a public meeting sponsored by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks to find out how you feel about the parks and recreation space in Los Angeles, specifically San Pedro. The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. at Peck Park Auditorium, 560 N. Western Ave. in San Pedro. Whether you are for open space, youth sports or (gasp!) both here is your opportunity to help the parks department with their five year plan.
If you cannot attend the meeting there will be a second meeting February 11th in Wilmington. You can also fill out a simple 8-question online survey which can take less than 15 minutes of your time. Community input needs to be received before the end of February so act now.

San Pedro has money taken away from it so politicans and City Workers can get humungeous raises even though they do so little to help the source of their revenue – the Port of Los Angeles!
The politicans allow more buildings, housing hundreds of new people but do not make parks for families to enjoy and fields for kids to play baseball, basketball and soccer to keep up with the bodily influx. We need money spent here – at the place L.A. gets money from!
Do we really need a school in our park! I think the City should consider spending the money on repairing Gaffey between the 110 and 1st St as it has almost become necessary to purchase a Four Wheel Drive to traverse this section of road.
This Extreme Left Wing City Council is not working for the people of the Palisades!
